The South State, Inc. Field Crew Texting Program is an internal, employee-only messaging service. Enrolled South State field employees text job-site reports (property address, observed water service line materials, and site photos) on utility construction projects to their project's toll-free number and receive automated replies: confirmation receipts, clarification questions, duplicate-visit warnings, and, on request, a link to the project field map.
Each project has its own toll-free number, and an employee is enrolled on the one for the project they work:
Participation is limited to South State employees. A project manager enrolls each employee verbally and in person — reading the program's verbal consent script and handing over a printed instruction card listing that project's number and these terms. Consent is completed by the employee's own text to the number: only enrolled phone numbers are processed, and messages from other numbers are ignored. By texting the program number after enrollment, you agree to receive automated replies about your submitted reports. Consent is not a condition of employment.
Message frequency varies with field activity — typically 1–5 replies per employee per workday during active construction season. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. South State does not charge for the program.
Text STOP at any time to cancel and stop receiving messages. After you send STOP, you will receive one final message confirming your opt-out. To re-join, text START or contact your project manager. Text HELP for help at any time, or call (856) 451-5300.
The program is available on major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
See the program's SMS Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
