South State, Inc. ("South State," "we"), 202 Reeves Road, P.O. Box 68, Bridgeton, NJ 08302, operates a text-messaging program used by our own field employees to submit job-site reports (property address, observed water service line materials, and related site photos) on utility construction projects, and to receive automated confirmation and clarification replies.
When an enrolled employee texts our program number, we collect the sender's mobile phone number, the content of the message (job-site report text and any attached photos), and message timestamps.
Messages are used solely to build and verify water service line inventory records for the public utility projects our crews work on (including records required by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection) and to send operational replies back to the reporting employee. We do not use program data for advertising or marketing of any kind.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Verified service-line data (not phone numbers) is delivered to the project owner and regulators as required by the construction contract.
This is an internal, employee-only program. Enrollment is performed verbally by a South State project manager, who provides a printed instruction card. Messages from phone numbers that are not enrolled are not processed.
